Corporate Social Responsability
In 2017, one of our key account customers in the Defense sector asked us to provide him with our latest Ecovadis CSR assessment.
This was the prerequisite for any collaboration between us...
Social responsibility has always been at the heart of our concerns, but we are a SME and we had not written or measured anything at the time. Nothing was formalized.
We have launched!
This first evaluation required us to make an effort to summarize our practices in a single document, and we obtained the status Silver.
This approach has paid off, we have been contacted by customers with whom we had no current business….
In 2018, we decided to communicate more openly about our CSR policy and the Ecovadis analysis.
The collaboration opportunities followed one another : we were able to participate in calls for tenders from large groups for which we were totally unknown until then.
In 2021, our status changes from Silver to Bronze!!! Cold shower! At BIBUSFrance, we rather like to progress!
We then created a working group to identify the areas for improvement proposed by Ecovadis and establish an action plan. We have written and communicated a responsible purchasing charter to all of our partners, which has allowed us to earn points on the Responsible Purchasing section.
We have also made progress on other initiatives and strengthened #commitments: M/F parity in the company, employee #training plans, social dialogue, hiring seniors, etc.
This made it possible to go back to Silver status from 2022.
Finally, the implementation of this evaluation allowed us to access new markets and to differentiate ourselves.
We thought it was an effort that would be in vain or simply an administrative essential to be referenced... But it allows us to unite internally and externally on core values that resemble us. And the actions are not at all Himalayan for a SME, it's even easier: decision-making is faster, team awareness too, it is easier to involve all employees in the process...
And you, have you already evaluated your CSR management with Ecovadis, how has it been profitable for you?
