Omron Microscan Barcode Verifiers: optimal readability
Designed to check the legibility and compliance of engraved or printed barcodes, the barcode verifiers check various types of linear, two-dimensional and stacked linear combinations.
Featuring a camera, software and precision lighting, they are made of high-performance materials that ensure optimal barcode readability and traceability.
With evolving standards, how do these barcode verifiers contribute to the traceability of tomorrow's industry?
Omron's Microscan verifier solutions: a concentrate of technology
BIBUS France offers a dozen Omron Microscan barcode verifiers including the LVS-9585 for engraved barcodes and LVS-9510, LVS-9570 1D and LVS-9580 1D, 2D for printed barcodes.
Features of the LVS-9580 portable model.
● Lightweight (470 g) and portable, powered by a 3 m USB cable, it can be used offline.
● It incorporates a high-resolution 5-megapixel camera and precision lighting that detects defects and reads codes:
- 1D, 2D printed on a wide range of marking surfaces: paper, metal, cardboard, shipping containers, etc., according to ISO/IEC, ANSI, GS1 and UDI standards and in these dimensions L76.19 mm x h 57.15 mm.
- 2D DPM, marked in the material, according to MIL-STD-130, ISO, GS1 standards, up to 44 mm x 44 mm.
● It verifies 1D, 2D (Data Matrix, QR code, Aztec code) and stacked linear codes (PDF 417, Micro PDF and composite codes).
● It incorporates analytical tools to evaluate, identify regulatory standard defects and facilitate their resolution.
Omron Microscan's solutions for the evolution of digital labels
Barcode verifiers are indispensable to all industries.
Barcode verification is an essential step in the production process where traceability is a major issue. The barcode verifiers are deployed in different environments such as logistics, food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, textile or automotive to trace a production intended to be consumer goods.
The Omron Microscan LVS-95xx verifiers are scalable. They work with software that can be augmented with Enhanced Application Identifier Verification (EAIV) to match GS1 application identifiers to data programmed into the EAIV function by the user. The verifiers are designed to read these codes in 2D, thus assisting in the digital transition of labels.
The linear barcodes we have known for over fifty years are destined to disappear. Increasingly obsolete, new consumer habits and new regulations are replacing them with QR codes. The latter allow better information to consumers and a better tracing of products, especially in case of health risks.
By 2027, the time for manufacturers to adapt materially, QR codes will be an obligation and will integrate information throughout the life of the product, from producer to consumer.
Barcode traceability has become a major issue in Industry 4.0. The industry cannot do without high-performance tools such as Omron Microscan verifiers to move towards this industrial digitalization.
