Aluminium Gas Springs
There are many applications where weight is a decisive factor, such as in aeronautics. In these cases, the individual components must also be kept as light as possible.
Aluminium gas springs were developed primarily to meet this requirement. 50% lighter than a standard gas spring, aluminium gas springs also have the same characteristics as a Bansbach gas spring made of steel or stainless steel.
A standard gas spring weighs approx. 250 g and has a diameter of 8/19 mm (for a stroke of 150 mm), whereas an aluminium gas spring weighs 120 g and has a diameter of 8/20 mm for the same stroke.
Characteristics
- Piston rod diameter 8 mm
- Cylinder diameter 20 mm
- Stroke 10 - 300 mm
- Strength 30 - 500 N
They have the same characteristics as standard BANSBACH gas springs :
- Resistant to corrosion by electrostatic powder coating on the body and thanks to the CeramPro® treatment of the rod.
- Long service life
- Protection against vibrations and low radial stress
- An integrated grease chamber for positioning and storage in any position including horizontal or rod upwards
